Castaway Bay Vacation

We spent the weekend in Sandusky Ohio at Castaway Bay and had a blast.  For those of you who are not aware, it is a big indoor water park.  They have an arcade room, many little shops, internet cafe, and restaurant.  The indoor water park has an awesome wave pool, a toddler play pool, water slides for all ages, and two other pools for other games and water play.  Three of the tube slides go outside of the building and then back inside,  we didn't use these because Emily was a little too small.  The smaller kids also have some great tube slides though, perfect for me too.  Our family loved this ride best, I'll have to explain it to you.  It was a blow up rubber boat, two people per boat (one in front of the other) it's like your on a water slide.  There was an initial drop (that gets that butterfly feeling in your belly) and than there are water jets that thrusts the boat back up from the drop.  You continue riding through a tube slide, making many twists and turns (some in the dark)  just like a roller coaster.  I do believe that Emily is a roller coaster lover!   The other area we enjoyed was the Hot tub/pool area.  Part of the hot tube/pool was inside and then you could walk in the water down a river and outside you go.  It was very neat being outside in the very warm water.  We had never been in a hot tub outside before.  Anyway enough talking, now I'll share some pictures.

Winter Fun

We decided to take the kids sledding today, and it was so much fun.  There are not any good hills around us that I know of, so we went for a little car ride.  I remember reading about a sledding hill  that was built on the Columbus County Park property, so off we went.  About 1/2 hour drive and we were there.  Really nice property with Belle River running through it.  There was a big fire pit with a stack of wood to keep everyone around it warm.  There are two different size hills, one a little smaller for the younger and inexperienced sledder.  I will definately  take the kids back again.  Now I'll share some pictures.

Coupon Deals

Yesterday was our weekly coupon shopping night (me and my BFF) and we found some great deals.  We hit several stores (Rite Aid, Walgreens, Kroger, Aldi and Meijer) and found some good coupon sales.  We were out for several hours last evening, but it is our girls night out and I enjoyed the time with my BFF (Shelley).  I returned home to my sleeping family (at 10 p.m.) and was very excited.  I just had to take a picture of my purchases.  Next step was to find all my receipts from the evening and start adding it up.  My total was looking really good and then I fished out my UPR's, Catalina's and RR.  My total spent was $40.76 after sales, coupons and store rewards!  So here is what I bought:

Me and my BFF did a little coupon shopping tonight at Meijer, and came up with some pretty good deals.

My total came to $52.80.  After coupons I paid $27.00 OOP.  I had a total savings of 48.02 with Meijer promotions/sales and coupons!
